Job Summary
The Design Director, Creative Production has thorough experience in designing for live music/entertainment, and/or branded experiences. This position works with Superfly leadership on the creation and execution of branded, location based entertainment properties and large-scale events.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead in developing the creative design for experiences across multiple IPs, markets and projects
  • Work closely with the Senior Creative Director to design the look, feel and narrative journey of the experiences from ideation to build for new and existing projects and IPs as needed.
  • Join client pitches to present creative concepts as needed to internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead (on-site or remotely as needed) creative build vendors and staff (labor, full time reports or freelance) for all assigned projects
  • Lead on budget forecasting and value engineering as project design progresses
  • Manage and help foster growth and learning opportunities with direct reports and less senior members of the team
  • Help to develop and uphold processes and systems for more efficient creative development and layouts, build installs and strikes.
  • Work in collaboration with operations, producers, sponsorship and other teams as needed to ensure creative builds and layouts work functionally and meet throughput goals while upholding a high level of creativity.
  • Oversee creation of presentation materials, creative briefs and other documents that help to convey the creative concepts and layouts developed
  • Lead in in overseeing design, upkeep and / or repair of any creative assets for assigned projects
  • Contribute in team meetings with project producers and other leads
  • Report project statuses weekly
  • Field questions and offer advice to team members to assist with creative problem solving

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 5-7 years experience in 3-D design, experiential design or architecture
  • Highly proficient in Autocad, Sketchup, Adobe Suite and other design software
  • Previous experience in events / experience design and knowledge of its effects on impact on throughput, operations, lifesafety, etc
  • Ability to interpret floor plans, reflected ceiling plans and other construction documents
  • Previous experience in managing creative vendors - fabricators, draftsman, lighting designers, graphics production, etc.
  • Ability to show concepts/ideas through various platforms from Google Slides mood boards to sketches to well written pitches
  • Experience in managing 1-2 direct reports, external vendors and interdepartmental communications
  • Process oriented with a mind towards continual improvement of process docs, systems, tracking and efficiency development
  • Strong knowledge of today‚Äôs live experience landscape including music and arts festivals, and immersive brand experiences
  • Highly organized, self-motivated and resourceful
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to consider feedback from multiple sources and present thoughtful solutions with a strong point of view
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and delegate
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
